OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

We seek to accomplish our mission domestically in Bronx, NY, and internationally in the West African nations of Nigeria and Ghana.

Through the instruction of  professional artisans, UBNLINKS trains local residents in the art of knitting/crochet and beadwork, as a form of therapy for those experiencing emotional and physical struggles, and for those who wish to express themselves through ‘arts & crafts’.  Through onsite mentorship, our program encourages the creation of economic opportunity for those who wish to produce income through the development of a new skill.

We inspire and  help  children and at-risk young people from economically and culturally disenfranchised communities to develop a skill set  in our in-house  training and mentoring program to enhance their well-being by   partnering  with area professionals and contractors to teach the basics of the construction and culinary trades, such as Plumbing, Masonry, Construction carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Cooking and Garden  classes,  Career counseling as well as invite guest speakers to tell them about their experiences.

Working with community and government agencies through community-based projects/outreach to eliminate the disparity in access to basic needs to vulnerable families by:

collection and re-distribution of everyday household essentials and variety of goods, highly needed items such as personal care products, basic living needs,  clothes, boots, gloves, books, computers, educational games/materials, soccer/ basket balls and equipment, athletic shoes and gear, school backpacks, writing and coloring materials, multivitamins, diapers, bibles, toys, SMART Board interactive whiteboard, and science equipment for children in need to ensure a physically and emotionally healthy development.

Provide families and individuals the opportunity to be part of the fight against malnutrition. Our Multiverse FarmShop is part of our Fit To Move project dedicated to the learning, the practice, and the teaching of sustainable based agricultural practices. The goal is to reduce  scarcity of food ,water and land, so as to become a multi-purpose, seed structure and seed development integrated farming system that produces hybrid seed, healthy food, fiber, sell vegetable seeds, and other Improved Crop Varieties that are accessible and affordable to all farmers and can be cultivated successfully on a small scale because we believe that if a child eats very well; he/she can be FIT TO MOVE.

In a determined effort to reduce hunger and malnutrition we provide rural farmers with  training, counseling, IcyHot Pain relieving cream , IcyHot Lidocaine  , financial assistance to individuals, families, Churches or groups and organize activities designed to  help Christian Farmers and Fulani Herdsman in Nigeria cope with trauma of displacement and help them make a successful transition to nonfarm jobs so as to promote just, peaceful and inclusive society  through our Ecumenical Retreat, Research, and Wellness Centre (ERRWC)
